C3LT4.TR4D? In addition to being a very kind person, Duncan is a very talented singer-songwriter and his new album is an impressive display of that talent.
I have chosen Old England as my favorite track but Mountain is another awesome song 😉 Favorite track: Old England.

The Road is a collection of songs spanning 3 or 4 years since my last release "Hypnotise". I had a couple of delays that prevented me from recording during that time but the songwriting never stopped to the point that I had far too much material for one release!

In the end, I decided to split the songs in two as around half were naturally quite laid back and mostly created using acoustic instruments whereas the others had more of a full band / rock feel.

The Road part 1 is the former and I feel it is an album that ties together really nicely and I am very proud of the results. I hope you enjoy it as much as me.

The album comes in a cardboard digipack with photography by Jamie Massie.

When the sun is sinking low And night is drawing in Birds are calling out farewell Seasons turn to spring See the light grow through the trees It seems they never fall Sands of time don't seem to touch Still they're standing tall Remembering the night before Sit and watch the curtain fall Far from it all And as we watch the seasons change Everything remains the same Far from it all As the days begin to change You wonder what's been seen Many lives have passed before A distant memory Remembering the night before Sit and watch the curtain fall Far from it all And as we watch the seasons change Everything remains the same Far from it all
2.
Semaphore 04:32
On the road again Tear myself away From this urban haze It seems so far away Put all the evidence away An over analysed mistake What do we really hope to gain? Just hope it never goes away Miles away from warm When ties are cut, positions drawn Even up the score With lines of broken semaphore Put all the evidence away An over analysed mistake What do we really hope to gain? Just hope it never goes away
3.
The captain of the depot, full 9 round oaths he swore And never once repeated, a word he'd used before To do the work of hundreds, he had one score and ten And now the blessed major, has sent and asked for men He called his men together, his eyes ran over the throng For some of them were rather short and some were rather long Some were highland pipers and some were engineers Some of them he knew not what they were, and some were grenadiers The captain's voice was gloomy, the captain's speech was low My lads, the major wants he said, three volunteers to go To guard a bridge out on the flank from sunset until dawn And let no man or beast across before tomorrow morn

The sun sets Feel the darkness grow around me A fire burns in the night What we built on this bleak and lonely hillside Cast a shadow through time Ages past Feel the mountains grow around me Through the dirt, we rise A silhouette on a high and distant hillside Casts a shadow through time Iv not forgotten We stand alone Iv not forgotten The circle grows Reaching out Though my form is sinking downwards I wont beg at all Though I stood here for countless years forgotten See me buried in time Iv not forgotten We stand alone Iv not forgotten The circle grows
5.
Time 04:57
Time Is the greatest healer But what about today? Light Passing through the embers It burns and fades away And I feel like the world is ending And Iv seen enough today Wont you please provide an answer And show me the way Why Did I ever offer And how did it end this way? I Will rise through the ashes But it pulls me down again And I feel like the world is ending And Iv seen enough today Wont you please provide an answer And show me the way
6.
Sleep now As the night draws in Breath out As we find out We are without a wheel to steer No more hiding the tears My time Coming round the bend I try Time passes by Long road tonight My thoughts decline Blink of an eye As we find out We are without a wheel to steer No more hiding the tears
7.
Old England 03:42
Working on an ancient land Through ages we would sow Passing through the sands of time Watch this green land grow Where tradition took its form A land that we call home Celebrate our history A labour built in stone We give We try Rebuild our lives again We know Decline We've run out of time Now our trees begin to fall As industry takes hold The price of it, what happened to Our good old English oak We give We try Rebuild our lives again We know Decline We've run out of time Land is prized but not for us There's nothing left to sell Beyond control our land is cursed A hollow faceless shell
8.
Out Of Sight 04:00
At night you feel it come alive The moonlight flickers when you smile We lose ourselves with every breath we take And in the dark we find no dreams the same Under the night The stars are shining bright Under the sky You and I A new dawn soon will rise The world we live in fades and dies Beside a stream we lay as time goes by We still believe the beauty in the night Under the night The stars are shining bright Under the sky You and I
9.
Mountain 04:13
Day will dawn on tides that will never turn In your eyes the memories still burn The stars went out The lights go down Above As time goes by We cannot Overcome Morning breaks in fear of whats to come Clouds that rise and slowly block the sun Time goes by you cannot stay the course Final answers written down for us The stars went out The lights go down Above As time goes by We cannot Overcome Day by day were taught how to believe Final ashes drifting down to the sea Tell me of the way things must be Tell me why the stones begin to bleed The stars went out The lights go down Above As time goes by We cannot Overcome
10.
Eclipse 06:03
Block out the sun The Earth and moon align Through space and time And I for one Will follow on The signs blaze across the sky I Wont let the sun rise The stars are all on fire Dont let the sun rise The dies are cast If we believe the lies Keeping us in line We scatter pieces to the wind And search for signs that will explain Why every second were afraid And feel the night is hear to stay I Wont let the sun rise The stars are all on fire Dont let the sun rise The battle won The songs are sung But time is running out tonight I Wont let the sun rise The stars are all on fire Dont let the sun rise
